PS 35X is a vibrant elementary school located in the heart of the Bronx, serving students in grades Pre-K through 5. We are a community that puts children first—creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our dedicated staff, strong family partnerships, and student-centered approach make PS 35X a place where learning comes to life.
At PS 35X, we believe that strong academics are the foundation of a bright future. Our curriculum follows New York State standards and is designed to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Through engaging, culturally responsive instruction, we empower students to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Learn MoreHMH literacy instruction provides the “how” for what students learn in science, social studies, the arts, and more. As students read and talk about texts, they will naturally build background and knowledge about grade-level cross-curricular topics and standards – Next Generation Learning Standards. HMH offers choice to all students – the power of choice can be motivating – what is interesting to one student may not appeal to another. Students access meaningful independent work and a wide variety of relevant, rich, authentic texts for independent reading to gain appropriate ownership of their learning. Students also have daily opportunities to express their understanding and thinking through productive and collaborative conversations that will help them succeed in today’s work.
Passport to Social Studies challenges students to think like historians and encourages them to raise questions, think critically, consider many perspectives, and gather evidence in support of their interpretations through the practice of chronological processing, decision-making, and historical research and analysis. Civics for All is aligned to the Passport to Social Studies curriculum. The DOE believes civics education is an essential part of every student’s core academic experience.
Amplify Science is a science curriculum that blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, engage in discussions, and argue like real scientists and engineers.
This program is grounded in problem-based and visual learning that enables students to gain a deeper understanding of math concepts that are aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards. The program features new resources to encourage student-led learning both in the classroom and at home. EnVision Mathematics lessons start with Problem-Based Learning (PBL), where students must think critically about real-world math problems, evaluate options, collaborate with peers/teachers, and present solutions.
Whether you’re joining the PTA, attending SLT meetings, or helping with events, family involvement is a key part of our school’s success.
